The current political shenanigans are "a tale told by an idiot. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Hold those you care about close. The sun still shines. The breeze still blows. The earth still turns toward spring. The earth is an amazing place to reside. Unplug for a few days and recalibrate. Clarity will follow.

With all due respect, this isn't a coup.

Not a coup? Please define this overthrow of our government?

Perhaps we could call what is happening with our government something else. How about wholesale, wanton destruction of every important and critical institution by the richest Nazi in the world with encouragement of the wannabe dictator who is a puppet of Putin?

How about the removal of key funds to keep little children alive in poor nations? How about halting HIV drugs for those who need them to survive?

When will Americans get it? When Medicaid is shut down and grandma's nursing home is shuttered? Are you ready to take her in? And Mom's Social Security check doesn't arrive on time? That's not a coup. That's grand theft.

With all due respect, this is worse than a coup. It is pure unadulterated cruelty. And as the next pandemic sweeps the world we will be on our heels because we didn't want to partner with the WHO or support the NIH. America First! Ha!

No sir, it's not "just" a coup. And I suppose as "we" remove two million people from Gaza to places that don't want them, we shouldn't call that ethnic cleansing? But wait, why not bring them to Texas? They are from the Middle East, they must know something about oil drilling! And they could protect us from the Mexican invaders! /s

You right. It's not a coup. It is treason as has never existed in our nation since its founding.

Bill, I would say that this is a coup and a treasonous coup. My question is can it be stopped by patriotic and caring Americans, and if so, how?

Or is it too late to stop, so that the shutting down of essential organizations such as AMAid and the World Food Program and Medicaid, and all the disgusting and extremely damaging cruelty will get worse and worse?

And is the leader of this treasonous coup the power-crazed t-rump or is it the billionaire oligarch Elon Musk, or both of them together? What do you think?

I only wish it were this easy.

From my perspective it’s more like “fasten your seatbelts”, and “put on your own oxygen mask first!”

What I’m really saying is that a sense of humor helps. But recognizing the severity of our shared distress also helps!

Validation is helpful, particularly when it is sincere.

BTW, what ever happened to the concept of “yours truly”?

So much of what we took for granted is MIA. And suddenly waking up is a nightmare beyond description.

Deborah, no wonder many Americans are so anxious and angry at the treasonous coup being effected by the power-crazed POTUS and his pal, the billionaire oligarch Elon Musk, that their love relationships are in trouble. And we Canadians are at least equally angry as these would-be tyrants attempt to ruin our economy and to destroy the sovereignty of our own homeland. 🇨🇦

Your advice about how to revive and restore our troubled marriages and love relationships is certainly helpful.

However, perhaps the key question is how to deal with all the well justified anger that undermines our marriages and loving relationships?
