Tied in with my mood today. I passed a primary school and saw a boy playing by himself and listened to the shrieks of the children playing in the background. Suddenly, I was overwhelmed by the place of love in childhood and how sadly, love gets crowded out in adulthood. It gets filled up with busy activity, trivia, chores. So, along with giving life space and time, I agree we need to learn how to receive and give it properly.
Dear Deborah, If there is one commodity that is lacking in this world it is love. The ironic part is that there is no price on love. They cannot put it in a bottle and sell it. It is for you and me to give our love freely to those who we want and for all the others to do the same. If people could only understand that it is the love that we share that continues even after we are gone. I also suspect that when we leave this life we take the love that has been given to us by everyone with us onward to wherever we are bound for next. Love is a miracle that can be shared freely and with everyone yet most people act as if sharing love with cost them too much when it is the opposite that is true. Be well. Shalom Dan
There's enough love to go around in this world but sadly not enough of it is being shared. People hold it tightly as if there's not enough for everyone. That has been my experience. I have reached out to people only to be rejected. I am often told that their little circle (spouse, children, grand-children) is enough and they do not wish to include other people even relatives. I think how sad! I smile to people, ask how they are and I am not going to change. There's a serious lack of connection and some people think that their digital world is enough. Sad state of affair! Thank you for sharing and for your comforting words as I need them today after hearing that a friend passed away.
There was a time when "love" and "loving thy neighbor" - a unity of community - was a continuous central theme of government leaders, church leaders and most public figures. Now they cultivate the hate of the "other".
Even some of our most destructive and terrible presidents "faked it" by talking about being a president for all Americans. At least there was a reassuring facade. Now the curtain is pulled back and the reality is revealed.
It is like whistling in a hurricane to talk of love right now. But kudos to you Dr. Hall for making the effort and reminding us that love is the high road, the positive road, the road to building a community, to reinforcing trust, to finding peace.
💕. We are all deserving and worthy of love…received or given.
“If you want to be more alive, love is the truest health.” - Rumi
Love is like all things in life
Budding, Bloooming, Fading.
Waste not each day and seek the nectar from it.
A LOVE POEM
When souls are open to love.
When souls “see” each other.
Then love can happen.
Love nurtured grows
into something beautiful.
I saw you. I saw your soul.
I cannot help but love you.
I couldn’t stop if I tried.
And I don’t wish to try.
HOPE
Yesterday
Fog, lowering clouds, rain.
A dark, pessimistic day.
Today
Birdsong, sunshine, the fresh,
apple green leaves of April.
A bright, optimistic day.
Youth
The servers in our dining rooms.
Our grandchildren.
Young, bright, energetic, enthusiastic.
Giving us hope.

Great piece! The trick is to know who the love is for. Be careful you are not just a mirror reflecting the love back.

Yvonne, I am very sorry your friend died.
I am crying with you.
I am glad you let my words be with you.
Thank you for your kind reply!
As always, a thoughtful and thought-provoking post. It made me think of the Beatles' song All You Need is Love.
After reading
your happy thought
I belted it out
over and over 🎶🎶🎶

Thank you for helping us balance our psyches.
Love that Hansen song. Yearning words married to a compelling tune. Thank you for bringing it forward.
For some, love is hard to give or receive. Kudos for getting us to try.
