Until Europe gets seriously involved, Ukraine is not going to win. If Russia wins, Europe will say, coulda, shoulda, woulda, shrug their collective shoulders and sigh with relief that they didn't have to fight Russia. This time. NATO, with or without the US needs to put boots on the ground in Ukraine and repel Russia. Putin will not use nuclear weapons because it would be the end of Russia. Putin's like Trump, all mouth, and when pushed back will retreat.
George, I too feel that it must be Europe, with weapons, funding and then troops to physically insure a lasting, just and respectful peace for Ukraine. I feel, that with this immediate and strong support they can push far enough into Russia and inflict enough damage to cause Putin's backers to sue for honest peace.
It would be better if he wasn't alive. Everyone knows what his crimes are and there's no need to spend hundreds of thousands of Euros and months of testimony to tell everyone what he did. A Mussolini type ending would be appropriate.
Many MAGA and other American right-wing political adherents fancy themselves as brave patriots while they cling to the faux security of their guns and the idea of safety in numbers of people like themselves in the us vs. them paradigm of their view of American culture, society and the politics of grievance and division that they think unites tem. But none of them - NONE of them - have this kind of courage or concept of patriotism...
I'd rather have one lone Ukrainian woman armed with nothing but her righteous anger and a handful of sunflower seeds on my side in a fight than any one - or even all - of the self-absorbed faux American MAGA patriots in their red hats and pricey tack gear, driven to their ostentatious shows of toughness by their own fear of Americans like me and others who do not walk their walk or talk their talk, act like them, or share their values of hatefulness and division and fear of people who look and speak differently from them.
They are unlike me. But I'm not afraid of them. And just how many of them would be brave enough to do what this one woman did in the face of a mortal threat in defense of her country?
Everlasting shame be on the Americans who would abandon Ukraine to a fate determined by a tyrant, whoever they be and whatever their station in life. They should be pelted with fistfuls of sunflower seeds whenever they have the temerity to refer to themselves as patriots. Because *real* patriotism requires real bravery and courage. And underneath all their loud and flashy red, white and blue the yellow in their hearts runs knee deep.
I subscribed to War, Love, and Survival in Ukraine. Thank you for letting us know about him. I feel honored to be able to support him and the incredibly brave people of Ukraine.
It's wonderful that you are promoting Viktor Kravchuk's Substack. I love his posts. Viktor is genuine in all respects.
I do want to caution you and other people about Ukrainian soldier imposters. I wrote about an encounter I had in my May 27 post entitled "Beware of Substack Imposters."

That would be an excellent decision, and it would signify the end of Putin's rule. He could seek asylum in NK.
If he is still alive, when this invasion is brought to an end, he should stand trial in Le Hague for his war crimes.

Swift justice...!!
