Yes, indeed. More good guidance from you, Dr. Hall. I call you Dr. because I like to honor your profession and achievements. I do the same with our GP who we treasure. We were among her first patients and she said it would be fine to call her Natalie. I said, nope, you worked very hard to attain that Doctorate.
Celebrating self is wicked healthy. But each night my wife and I raise a glass to someone else we want to celebrate. Maybe they had good test results or some other positive event. But we do try to find moments of appreciation each day.
Yesterday we celebrated Bonnie herself. The annual screening for cancer came back "all clear"! 15 years to the month of her diagnosis. Grateful is too gentle a word for those moments.
Beautiful and powerful! Sometimes we are always looking forward to the next milestone or "the next big thing" that we forget to celebrate all the other milestones we've passed. This is such an important reminder for us to pause occasionally and look into the rear view mirror to see how far we've come. "Living in the present" is lacking these days. Thank you for the reminder, Deborah. God bless 🙏
Very insightful. This is something I struggle with. I am not driven by a need to succeed but a fear of failure. The negetive voice in my head was put there long ago by someone else. Still trying to kick it out.
Doing justice to ourselves. Yes! 🖖

The MagaNazis can't take that away.

Celebrating exercises your happiness muscles bringing joy to your life!
Sadistic superego is so interesting verbally and conceptually.
Dr. Deborah Hall: You don't need an excuse to celebrate.
Celebration, joy is central to a healthy life.
You keep us encouraged during hard, hard times.
Very true, Dr. Deborah. Celebrating success is indeed very important. It helps train us to want more success, rather than scaring us away from it.
Very powerful words. Thank you.
Wonderful reminder about not short-circuiting your own success. Thank you, Dr. Deborah.
I needed to read those words. Thank you.
High tones and low provide substance,
how monotonous with one tone only.
that's a good one
I really like the verse structure of your prose. Readable chunks. Sadistic superego, don’t let the door hit you when you leave.
